Governor-elect Barbara Andres

I am delighted to continue to serve our Region, our club members, and women and girls everywhere as your Governor-elect and Federation Programs Chair.

We are not the only organization that helps women and girls but we are the only organization that makes their dreams not only possible but actualized.

I’ve met countless exceptional women in my 15 years as a member of Soroptimist. Members of my club, Soroptimist of Los Angeles West-Santa Monica, and past and current leaders in our Region have provided their example and their support as leaders and as friends.  The women and girls whose lives Soroptimist improves continue to amaze and inspire me with their strength, resilience, and wisdom beyond their years.

I serve for these wonderful women who have given so much to me. I serve for the women and girls whose lives are better for what we do, because as we give them a hand we improve our world and our future.

Governor-Elect Barbara Andres

Secretary Liz Mirzaian

Glendale

The work of a Soroptimist leader is not just another job that requires extra time, it is a personal and collective mission to be part of making a difference for others with passion, joy and gratitude.  I am pleased and truly honored to once again serve on the Camino Real Region board, this time as Region Secretary for the 2016-2018 biennium.  I look forward to working with Governor Ginger and the rest of the inspiring women who make up this executive board. I have been active in club or region leadership since my first year of membership in 2006 and trust that I will continue to serve our organization in a manner that demonstrates the spirit and mission of Soroptimist.

Secretary Liz Mirzaian

Treasurer Chris Blazey

I am once again honored to serve at the Camino Real Region treasurer for the next biennium.

I look forward to working with Governor Ginger and the newly elected board.  Our region was determined by SIA to be a healthy region financially.  It is my duty as treasurer to maintain that status for our region and will do everything possible to accomplish it.  Being treasurer is an important job.  It’s important to be financially responsible and that is your job as treasurer.   If any of the treasurers have questions, please feel free to call me.  I look forward to working with you also.

Treasurer Chris Blazey

District 1 Director Sharon Jones

Camarillo

It is an honor to serve as District 1 Director. I am enthusiastic to be the liaison between the Soroptimist International Camino Real Region Board and our club Presidents during the 2016-2018 biennium and look forward to visiting with clubs and attending their events. Most importantly, I want the Presidents and clubs to know that I am here to support them along with our Soroptimist International Camino Real Region Board.  I am passionate about the vision of Soroptimist and will always be willing and ready to help our Presidents promote Soroptimist International of the America's mission and core values, to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.

I joined Soroptimist International of Oxnard seven years ago and held several chair positions as well as a two year consecutive President Elect and President term.  Most recently I served 2014-2016 as CRR Membership Chair and transferred my membership to Soroptimist International Camarillo in January, 2016.   It is a pleasure to work with a committed Soroptimiist International Camino Real Region Board and I wish to thank you all for the opportunity to serve and support our Governor’s Biennial Theme: Catch The Dream!

District 1 Director Sharon Jones

District 2 Director Lola Abrahamian

Glendale

In the short time that I have been a Soroptimist I have been astounded at the great work we do not only within our communities, but around the world.  I am amazed at the number of organizations we touch on both a personal and professional level.  This is due to all the wonderful women that make up this group.  I am very proud to be a part of this organization and even more proud to be your District 2 Director.

I look forward to a successful biennium knowing that I am not alone as your D2D.  I truly believe in a collaborative effort as we continue to progress on our projects.  I am excited about our efforts to promote our mission to improve the lives of women and girls through programs leading to social and economic empowerment.

Together we will be that global and local voice, serving with passion and giving of ourselves graciously!

District 2 Director Lola Abrahamian

District 3 Director Laura Lind

It is truly my honor and pleasure to join such an amazing group of women on the Camino Real Region Board. Although I have only been a Soroptimist for five years I am passionate about our mission and have been very focused on gender equality my entire life. It is wonderful working with a group of like minded women and I look forward to meeting and getting to know the leaders and members of all of the clubs in District 3. Working with you, we will do our best to improve the lives of women and girls.

District 3 Director Laura Lind

District 4 Director Gwyn Petrick

When SI San Fernando Valley was chartered, we relied heavily on the Camino Real Region Leadership Team to help us navigate through our beginning months.  The support we received from Past Governor Dora and the Region Board helped keep us heading in a positive direction.  If not for their leadership and guidance, we might not have made it.

Now, Soroptimist San Fernando Valley has the opportunity to express our gratitude to the Region that helped us through those early years.  On behalf of SISFV, thank you for allowing me to “give back” by serving as your District 4 Director. It is a privilege and an honor to once again be a part of your Camino Region Leadership Team.

District 4 Director Gwyn Petrick

Parliamentarian Sheila Tatum

The Camino Real Region is embarking on a new biennium with thoughtful excitement and planning and I am excited to be a part of the Region Board.  I have been a Soroptimist for more than 25 years and have always accepted exciting challenges with anticipation.  The Region aspires to "RISE and Catch the Dream" through the dedication and commitment of each of us to the Soroptimist mission.

This is an inspired challenge which will require planning and determination.  To this end, the business of the Region and our clubs require that we all manage with courtesy and within the framework of bylaws, policies and procedures--which doesn't sound like fun--but it will be!  I am honored to be your Parliamentarian and look forward to serving you for the 2016-2018 biennium.
